Don't miss April- May at A42 House! We’re excited to launch Izimpande — a new wellness + beauty sanctuary rooted in African indigenous knowledge, adapted for today. Our practitioners will be offering one-on-one sessions across many forms of healing and repair: massage, meditation, hair styling, coaching, dance, yoga, and ancestral healing. Each service draws from traditional practices. On April 25- come to our Open Day to meet the practitioners, experience the work, and see what’s on offer. It feels right that Africa Month (May) is when we begin our regular rhythm: -African Yoga (Mondays) — to start the week grounded -Kemetic Meditation (Wednesdays) — a midweek reset, based on ancient Kemetic cosmologies from along the Nile -Afro Flow (Sundays) — a 90-minute, high-energy movement session We’re also introducing Holding Space Circles (every other week from May 7) — a space for men to speak freely, be heard with compassion, and find strength in community. To connect with our community come to our Members Mixer — April 29 (free for members) and our Dipapadi Night — May 8 — (play the Common Ground game to gain insight into yourself (or your partner)). For makers and creators, don't miss the wood carving workshop with Simon Moshapo Jr. — May 2 (whose work features in The Weight of Small Things and across the Grounded collection) and our painting workshop with Oliver Matamba — May 16- the force behind the exhibit, Oliver and Thembani. For plant lovers- our Indigenous Healing Garden series starts from May 9, when we’ll explore principles of gardening and landscape design while collectively shaping the garden. And finally, we’re part of Jozi aMuse / International Museum Week — we’ll be opening things up in a different way on May 21. You’ll be able to book via Quicket. See you soon butterflies.
