"Kwantu means home" – Vusumzi Ngxande For decades, African spirituality has been demonised or met with suspicion, forcing many to navigate a perceived conflict between traditional Christian faith and ancestral veneration. Yet, the reality of African cultural practice frequently necessitates the presence of the Ancestors, a requirement that often stands in direct opposition to orthodox Christian dogma. Inspired by the acclaimed podcast of the same name, Journey Kwantu delves into the evolution of South African spiritual identity and belief systems across centuries. The work is grounded in meticulous historical research, lived experiences, and insightful dialogues with healers, scholars, and individuals seeking their own spiritual truth. Possessing a unique ability to demystify complex themes and address formerly taboo inquiries, the author seeks to answer fundamental questions: "Who are we?" and "What has shaped the architecture of our beliefs?"
