Rather than focus solely on the Western conception of individual identity located in a gendered body, Inherited Futures explores how we are made through relationships to ancestors, past generations, families, communities, colleagues, authorities, institutions, place and more. Through the work of artists Thandi Baloyi, Naledi Chai, Mbulelo Hlela, Kesaobaka Jackson, Bridget Nthabiseng Makhubela, Chantel Masinga, Andrea Moses, Emmanuel Moyo, Prinitha Pillay, Nhletelo Tlakula, and Sipho Zwane, we invite you to participate in a reparative, creative conversation about inheritance, sisterhood, power and place.
